Comments:

Though most of the professional services I have provided under EDC over the the last 7 years have been in the realm of Database and Web Scripting, my interests span a larger range both in Web Design as well as other areas. For my web related interests, I enjoy finding the right balance between server-side and client-side processing... such as the appropriate use of AJAX and Flash features as apposed to PHP or WebDNA processing. I also enjoy a continuing education in the use of CSS, XML and Javascript as well as Linux and Apache related applications and modules. Lastly, I always make it a point to keep up with the latest Adobe changes in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator.

RECENT WORK HISTORY: (starting with most recent)

> WebDNA Software Corporation (WSC): From June 2008 to November 2009
Vice President and Co-Founder
WSC is a Delaware 'C' Corporation formed in June of 2008 with the purpose of reintroducing the product WebDNA as a major competitor in the (Web) server-side scripting industry. My job at WSC was to guide the initial reintroduction and development of WebDNA. During this time, I continued to run my core business, EDC. Now that my job is completed with WSC, my focus remains with Euca Design Center.

> Euca Design Center: From June 2003 to now
EDC is a culmination of my experience thus far. I opened EDC for business not long ago and have had much success so far. Please see my Show Case for a look at a small selection of websites EDC has created.

> Epsen Hillmer Graphics: From Dec 1999 to June 2003
I was originally hired at EHG as an associate Art Director. My duties included the operation of standard Desk Top Publishing software (Photoshop, Freehand, Illustrator, Quark and Pagemaker etc.) to ready artwork for the presses. EHG's (Flexo) runs are large and they service well known companies such as Alberto Culver (Vo5), Lavic, Mattel and St.Ives.

In Dec of 2000 I attained a new title, "Administrator of IT for creative services". With this new position, I was tasked with managing the I.T. responsibilities for the creative services department. My job expanded greatly to include managing and maintaining the prepress computer systems (mostly mac based), formulating backup procedures, installing a gigabyte network and SAN, Software purchases and management, and Web Site production and management. During this time, I guided the transition from OS9 to OSX for the department. I also ran the fax server, DNS server, and firewall for the entire company. The creative department consisted of 20+ Apple, 2 unix, 2 linux, and one windows NT servers and workstations.

The last notable aspect of EHG is its forms website. EHG had two primary divisions. The dominant division was Custom Labels and Form Printing. The other division was Office and Accounting retail and wholesale. EHG's retail / wholesale division was called HG Professional Forms Co. Soon after I obtained my new position I proposed a new website for the "ProForms" division. It was accepted, and in late 2001 and early 2002 I built a commerce site for HG ProForms. The site was built from the ground up without templates using HTML and Javascript and with the core commerce features being a scripting and database system called WebDNA. After finishing the website, the Proforms division soon had the largest percent increase in profits in its recent history. The HG Proforms division (and website) was then sold to Tenenz (Tax-Aid), Inc.. Most of my original code logic is still in use today.

> Lancer Label: From June 1996 to Oct 1999
I was hired at Lancer as a Computer Artist. My duties included readying artwork for press. Lancer is a large and constantly changing company. Lancer promotes to a variety of label buyers with a common theme of custom orders. Performance is key at lancer for the position I held ( maintaining a high output / high quality rating at all times). In the 3+ years I worked there, I offered my assistance in a few different improvement teams. Lancer's "Process Improvement Team" (PIT) included employees from the prepress department and the plate room. Our main goal was shaving time off processes, without sacrificing quality. Lancer taught me about dealing with a large and changing corporate level of command and the importance of good management.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
Over the years, my interests have made themselves apparent. Though my interests are many, I have found common themes that keep me grounded. My high-school and college experiences funneled heavily towards music, art and computers. This theme has remained constant. I have dabbled in many forms of art. I continue to do a variety of projects such as web site and ecommerce design through Euca Design but I am also active in other creative mediums. Before moving to Oregon, WI, I helped out at a local "Soft Glass" (glass blowing) studio ( in Omaha, NE ). Crystal Forge was a great means of exercising creativity, and a great way to relieve stress. I now have my own glass blowing studio. I also have extended time involved in Airbrushing.
